Law of Attraction Pregnancy: Positive affirmations for birth & conception

October 22, 2022 //  by Hilary Erickson, BSN, RN

All articles are written/reviewed by pregnancy expert Hilary Erickson, BSN-RN, -- a nurse since 1997 with 20 years of labor and delivery experience. This is medical info, not advice. Consult your provider for expert advice on your own health decisions.

Law of attraction in pregnancy? Are you a pregnant person looking to manifest a great birth through positive affirmations for pregnancy or to manifest a baby?

Becoming a parent is one of the most amazing things that can happen in life. As your belly begins to grow and you start to feel those first little kicks, it’s normal to have a lot of mixed emotions. You may be excited and scared all at the same time. One thing that can help you through this amazing (and sometimes challenging) time is positive affirmations.

But first, how do I know all of this? Hi — I’m Hilary — The Pregnancy Nurse 👩‍⚕️. I have been a nurse since 1997 and I have 20 years of OB nursing experience, I am also the curly head behind Pulling Curls and The Online Prenatal Class for Couples. 🩺 I tend to be the person who likes to stew and stress about things, but affirmations have really helped me not do that. Before we get started, grab some of my favorite affirmations that I can send to your inbox:

What are positive affirmations?

Positive affirmations are short, powerful statements that can help to focus your mind and change your mindset. When you repeat these affirmations to yourself on a daily basis, they can help you to let go of negative thinking and cultivate a more positive outlook.

During pregnancy, it’s normal to worry about everything from whether or not you’re doing enough to prepare for the baby’s arrival to whether or not you’ll be a good mother. These worries can sometimes spiral out of control, leading to anxiety or even depression.

Practicing positive affirmations can help pregnant women reframe their thoughts and see the glass half full instead of half empty.

Many people combine this with the Law of Attraction.

What is the law of attraction?

The law of attraction is the belief that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, people can bring positive or negative experiences into their life.

So, if you’re pregnant and wanting a healthy baby, it’s important to focus on positive affirmations that will help you attract a healthy pregnancy and baby.

How To Use Positive Affirmations

There are endless ways to incorporate positive affirmations into your daily routine.

One way is to write them down on index cards or post-its and place them where you’ll see them throughout the day—on your bathroom mirror, on your fridge, or even on your steering wheel.

You can also set aside a few minutes each day to close your eyes and repeat them out loud, either alone or with your partner.

Keep in mind that it may take some time for you to start believing the affirmations if you’ve been stuck in negative thinking for awhile. Be patient with yourself and keep at it — sometimes it takes a bit for that positive energy to flow into you!

Some examples of positive affirmations for pregnancy are:

• I am creating new life and taking part in one of the most wonderful miracles of the universe

• My body is strong and capable, and I trust it implicitly

• I am surrounded by love and support

• I am grateful for this pregnancy and everything that comes with it

• Every day, my baby grows stronger and healthier

• I am excited to meet my baby and become a mother

• I am calm, confident, and prepared for whatever comes my way during labor and delivery

• My baby is healthy and perfect just the way they are

Don’t forget that preparing for your birth can help you feel a lot more positive and in control too!

Can Affirmations Help Me Conceive?

Some people believe that using positive affirmations can help them conceive (or manifest pregnancy).

Conception is the start of pregnancy, when a woman’s egg is fertilized by a man’s sperm. Getting pregnant can be difficult, and many couples experience anxiety about whether or not they will be able to conceive. Some people believe that using positive affirmations can help reduce this anxiety and increase the chances of conception with a healthy baby.

There is no scientific evidence to support this claim, but some women who have used affirmations say that they have found them helpful. If you are trying to conceive, you may want to give affirmations a try.

Affirmations for Conception

  • I am fertile and my body is full of life.
  • I am pregnant with possibility.
  • I attract new life into my body with love.
  • I release all fears and doubts about becoming a parent.
  • I trust my body to know how to conceive.
  • I am grateful for the miracle of new life.
  • I will get pregnant at just the right time for me

Can The Law of Attraction Work For Pregnancy?

The law of attraction is the belief that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, people can bring positive or negative experiences into their life.

Some people believe that the law of attraction can be used to manifest a pregnancy. Others believe that it can be used to get pregnant or to attract a healthy pregnancy or delivery. There is no scientific evidence to support these claims. However, some people report success in using the law of attraction for pregnancy.

Personally, I believe that it does a few things:

We tend to attract what we are thinking about. I have personally seen women who are so obsessed with NOT having a C-section they just attract it into their birth. If you think of all the positive things, I think your body tries to stay on that track.

It’s actually one of the issues I have with birth plans, because much if it is things you DON’T want — rather than what you DO want. 🙂

I talk about birth plans (with a whole video) in my free beginning prenatal class!

It can help you stress less. In reality, there is not much you can do about anything in pregnancy, except control you. What you eat, what you do and what you stress about. And I find that affirmations remind me that everything most often DOES turn out right, and me stressing about it won’t help (and could hurt).

Final thoughts about pregnancy affirmations:

If you’re feeling anxious or stressed about pregnancy or motherhood, know that you’re not alone—and there is something you can do about it! Incorporating positive affirmations into your daily routine is an easy and effective way to change your mindset from negative to positive. Give it a try today!

Another thing that can really help you feel positive is taking a prenatal class. The Online Prenatal Class for Couples guarantees you’ll feel more confident about your upcoming hospital birth — plus, it only takes 3 hours!

An illustration of a happy pregnant couple giving birth. The woman is in the process of giving birth, with a doctor assisting her. The man is holding the woman's hand. There is a speech bubble above the man's head that says "Do you feel CONFIDENT about your upcoming birth?" Below the image, there is a subtitle that says "You can!" There is a large "Click here to get confident" button below the subtitle.
